The Notre Dame Book of Prayer
The Notre Dame Book of Prayer gathers together
hundreds of traditional and contemporary prayers that reflect the
rich heritage of the Catholic faith and the storied legacy of the
University of Notre Dame. Arranged around twelve places on

gridiron of hallowed Notre Dame Stadium--this beautiful treasury
exemplifies the lively yet reverent spirit that makes Notre Dame a
unique place of prayer. Readers will find hundreds of prayers, many
by members of the University's faculty, staff, students, alumni, and
members of the founding Congregation of Holy Cross, as well as
guidance on how to pray and inspiring testimonies on the power of
prayer.
The deluxe gift packaging of this book includes gold foil
detailing and four-color interior with striking photography by Matt
Cashore, making this book the perfect gift for the worldwide network
of Notre Dame students and alumni, as well as for the hundreds of
thousands who love Notre Dame as part of the legendary subway
alumni. Hardcover.

Blessed Are the
Bored in Spirit
A Young Catholic's Search for
Meaning
by Mark Hart
"My image of God the Father, enthroned in heaven
in flowing white robes and Birkenstock sandals, was overshadowed
by my certainty that he didn't want me to have any fun. God was
all about rules."—from Chapter Five
Too many young Catholics experience their faith as Mark Hart
did: They rarely miss Mass even if they don't understand it;
they have a Bible even if they never read it; they go to
confession even if they aren't particularly repentant.
Is that your experience of Catholicism? Is yours a faith of Thou
Shalt Nots? If so, forget about a dreary life of mindless
obedience to rules you don't understand. It's time to enter into
the transforming light of your Creator who invites you to live
from the still center of his undying love.
The author's humorous and hard-hitting reflections drive home
the point that God isn't calling the reader to be a good
person—someone who merely obeys the rules—but a new
person in Jesus Christ. (Item #90534)

More Than A
Message
By the Southside Dragons,
2010-2011 Sophomore Class at St. Mary's High School
Forward by: Most Reverend Robert Carlson, Archbishop of St. Louis
When we selected "More Than A Message" as the title for our book we
were looking for something catchy that may inspire people to take a closer
look. We did not realize that our chosen title may very well reveal the
book's true purpose. We believe this collection of our poems, all written as
part of a class in our sophomore curriculum, is a worthy contribution to the
literary landscape. But it is more than that. There is a wisdom dwelling in
the heart and soul of every young person, a wisdom our world needs in
troubled times. We do not claim to have all the answers, but young people
everywhere are asking the right questions. We invite you to read the poems a
couple of times. Some of them belong with your finest collections, others
may not be ready yet for prime time. But all of them are expressed from
within the imagination of young people who have something very important to
say. Perhaps you can find your own questions in the midst of these poems.
Your reading, just as our writing, will contribute meaning to the world.
All proceeds from the sales of "More Than A Message" support the important
work of our St. Vincent de Paul Society. 6x9, 108 pages, paperback
